Workplace or Blissful Place?

Confucius once said that, "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life." It really is! But nothings beats a job with dear friends around you.

I am currently working as Nurse 1 (RN Heals) at East Avenue Medical Center. Being a nurse is not an easy profession. It requires a lot of knowledge, skills, hard work, compassion, strong will, emotional stability and most of all, patience. Our job is not as simple as it seems to be, especially when you’re assigned in a male medical ward. The word “Toxic”, meaning “busy” will never be absent in this area.

In spite of the demanding activities of this ward, my co-workers and I can still smile and laugh about the chaotic events of our duty. Is it because we love our job? Nah! I think it’s not just that, it’s because we certainly enjoy our job and at the same time it’s not about calling each other “CO-WORKERS” but because we treat each other as “FRIENDS”.

I love my work. I really do! But sometimes, I also feel exhaustion from a busy day at work. But with these people around, every moment is priceless… :)))

At our Christmas party last year

All smiles after a toxic day :)))

About to go home... Seen the smiles on their faces?

We also have our clean up drives. And take note, we do it ourselves. :)

Another senior nurse cleaning on the other side of table.

 Nurses cleaning the bedside tables.

See? We are cleaning the beds as well.

cleaning a side rail of our hospital bed

Another senior nurse and two regular staff nurses also cleaning the beds

and drying the washed still charts.
This is done monthly to make sure that our hospital will be "Malinis at mabango"

Even though we had hectic schedules, we make sure that we are also having fun.

We went out to eat fishballs, kikiam and the like at U.P.

These pictures are a solid proof that despite the toxicity we have, we still remain in high spirits and united like a family. We work harmoniously and we are enjoying what we do. Whether it'll be benign or toxic, 5-North will still remain the same. Full of delightful memories and BLISS :)))
